Thank you Disney!

The teaser trailer for the upcoming film Moana has been released and it is twelve flavours of awesome sauce. I previously did a post on a poster Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who voices demigod Maui in the film, tweeted on his Twitter account The Rock releases new poster for Disney’s Moana (Flash post).

The plot of the film follows Princess Moana Waialiki (voiced by 14 year-old Auli’i Cravalho), the only daughter of a chief in a long line of navigators, and Maui as they head off in a small ship in search of a fabled island.

The new trailer begins with Maui, who is a large tattooed man just like Johnson, speaking of his legendary exploits like pulling down the sun with his large fish hook, pulling islands from the sea and fighting monsters. Johnson, who last played a fabled demigod in 2014’s Hercules, displays his trademark energy and big guy goofy humor and it is delightful.

We see a bit more of Moana in the trailer and Disney’s first Polynesian princess looks beautiful and feisty. We also meet her obligatory cute sidekick, a white piglet named Hua, and an angry rooster named Hei Hei; 2016 is the year of angry animated birds. Then we get images of the ocean and our heroes out to sea, and the aquamarine water makes you want to dive right in.

We are yet to see the villain of the film and more of the plot but I am fully teased and excited. I will be there when it premieres on November 23.
